Groundwork work with local authorities and other partners to respond to the challenge of Climate Emergency declarations and Zero Carbon targets. Our approach is locally driven and based on improving the sense of place, placing landscape and people at the heart of the approach. We believe that environmental resilience must be coupled with social resilience, putting people in a position to decisions that affect them, influence the spaces in which they live, and will respect, care for and understand for years to come. 

We deliver community focussed Nature Based Solutions, such as landscape-led SuDS, to increase the resilience of our urban spaces to localised flooding, improve biodiversity and the amenity value of the public realm. By working with natural processes as a creative element rather than a hindrance to be overcome, we can design spaces that encourage more interaction with our surroundings, and provide more spaces for play, socialising and recreation. We believe that this holistic approach makes for places that help make us healthier and happier, and are valued more by those who use them.
